Own a Retail Store and Want to Sell? How To Sell a Business

Are you a retail store owner?

A viewer sent me a link to this article and asked me about one of the items in the list.

They wanted to know why the author was a proponent of telling everyone the business is for sale while I spend so much time telling people to keep things confidential.

Let’s review the article and I’ll tell you what I think about each of the points in this video about the common mistakes people make when selling a retail business: https://youtu.be/zS_wG67FenE

Do you have a business to sell?  Visit www.HowToSellMyOwnBusiness.com and learn how I can help you sell.

[VIDEO STORY] I met a guy in the lease-to-own furniture business at a BBQ

I tell the story of a guy who works in the lease-to-own furniture business and get an understanding of their business model with a few well-crafted questions.

I'll be doing an ROI calculation when I get my hands on one of their advertisements.

[VIDEO STORY] Bye Bye Birdie

In this video I tell the story of the difficulty in finding a buyer for a highly specialized niche retail store; one that sells bird-watching items.

I relate how small business buyers are looking for both an investment and a job and help shed some light on how you should imagine an exit plan before you start a business.

Enjoy.

[VIDEO] What if your customers knew your cost?

This video truly made me think and that's why I've decided to share it with you.

This shopkeeper openly posts his cost for every item he sells and tells people he will accept the cost price if that's all they can afford.

How would you react to this pricing strategy?  Would you pay the lowest price, asking price or offer some middle ground?

Interesting video and the owner of the shop has an important message to share.
