[VIDEO STORY] Paving Contractor vs. the Drug Dealers & Beautiful fall colours.

I had the good fortune to spend some time speaking with a man in the paving business over the weekend. When I asked him a few questions about his work I was surprised when he told me the problems the illegal drug trade creates for driveway pavers.

Enjoy.

Also, I will be in Vegas on the weekend of Nov 14th if any readers want to get together and do a local investing mastermind meeting.

InvestLocalBook.com is the blogsite for Invest Local, a book about local investing deals such as loans, leases, inventory financing, receivables financing and more to small businesses and people.

Business and Asset Values: How Owners, Buyers, Sellers, Lenders, and Advisors Should Think About Sma

What makes a business valuable? Why can a profitable company still be difficult to sell? Why can old machinery be worth more than its accounting value? Why does one business have substantial goodwill while another depends almost entirely on its physical assets? Business and Asset Values explains how value actually works inside privately held businesses. Written for business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, buyers, sellers, lenders, accountants, lawyers, advisors, and appraisers, this practical guide explores the forces that cause value to grow, weaken, transfer, or disappear. Drawing on years of experience in small-business transactions, financing, valuation, and machinery and equipment appraisal, David C. Barnett shows why value is never just a number. It is the result of cash flow, risk, market demand, asset quality, transferability, financing conditions, and the expectations of real buyers and sellers.
